Double Opt-in
With double opt-in, the visitor must confirm their email address before the entry counts. Notifications, webhooks and integrations wait until they click the link in the confirmation email.
Turn it on
- Open the form’s Settings › Notifications.
- Turn on Double opt-in.
- Set:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Email field | Default: the first Email field. |
| Email subject | Default: Please confirm your email address. |
| Email message | Must contain {confirm_link}. Field tags work too. |
| Message after submitting | Default: Almost done! Please check your inbox. |
| Link valid for (hours) | After this, the link stops working. |
| Page after confirming | Where the visitor goes after clicking the link. |
| Or this message | Shown instead, when no page is chosen. |
- Click Save settings.
Managing unconfirmed entries
- The entry screen shows an Email confirmation panel: Not confirmed or Confirmed.
- Click Resend to send the confirmation email again.
- Click Confirm to mark the entry as confirmed yourself and send the notifications now.
- In Entries, unconfirmed entries have a yellow ! tag (Email not confirmed yet). Use the Email confirmation filter in the toolbar to list only Not confirmed or Confirmed entries.
Paid entries are not held: a completed payment always runs the notifications right away.
