Confirmation Messages and Redirects
The confirmation is what visitors see after they submit the form successfully. Set it in the form’s Settings › Confirmation.
After a successful submit
Choose one:
- Show a message: a thank-you message on the same page.
- Redirect to a page: send the visitor to one of your pages.
- Redirect to a post: send the visitor to one of your posts.
- Redirect to a URL: send the visitor to any address.
Show a message
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Success message | The message, written in the WordPress editor. Smart tags such as {field:FIELD_ID} work here. Empty uses the global success message. |
| Form after submit | Clear the fields, Hide the form or Keep the values. |
| Scroll to the message | Scrolls the page to the message. |
| Hide message after (seconds) | Hides the message after a delay. 0 keeps it on screen. |
Example message:
Thanks {field:f1a2b3}! We received your request #{entry_id} and will reply within one working day.
Redirect
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Redirect page / Redirect post | Search for and pick the page or post. |
| Redirect URL | A full address. You can add values, e.g. https://site.com/thanks?entry={entry_id}. |
| Redirect query string | Added to the redirect address, e.g. name={field:FIELD_ID}&ref=contact. Values are URL-encoded. |
| Pass field data via query string | Adds every submitted field to the address as FIELD_ID=value. |
Be careful with personal data in redirect addresses. Addresses can end up in browser history and analytics tools.
Failure message
Failure message is shown when a submission cannot be saved or a captcha check fails. Empty uses the global error message from Global Settings › Messages.
FormGlut Pro adds Conditional confirmations: different messages or redirects depending on the answers.
